Allyson Maynard-Gibson’s focus within the Foundation will be on Legal matters and Lobbying for reform of the education system in The Bahamas
Allyson, a Bahamian, is a UK trained Barrister-at-Law and recently served as the Minister of Financial Services and Attorney General of The Bahamas. She now Senate Leader for the opposition party. A passionate champion of the Bahamas and its people she brings considerable experience, commitment, and intellect to the Foundation. She and her husband are the parents of two daughters, and she is fully aware of the challenges facing the youth of today and the importance of character and capability to their success. She received her education at Barry University (BSc Hons), Miami, Fl; London School of Economics & Political Science (LLB (Hons), LLM), The Council of Legal Education and is a member of the Inner Temple, London, England.
She was a founding member of Zonta (Freeport) and has served as a past-president of The Links Incorporated, Nassau chapter. An Anglican, Allyson is a long standing member of the Anglican Church Women, The Bahamas Women's Forum and is the founding director of the Yellow Elder Community Library Association and the Senior Citizen's Centre.
